This just in! Our new plants have arrived. Get ready to meet our latest leafy recruits. From fresh faces to MVPs in new sizes, we have lots of exciting new friends to introduce you to. To prepare for the launch, the Patch team spent a week in south-east London, where they brought our new season photography to life. Here’s a sneak peek of what went on behind the scenes.

The brief

We had a mission: photograph our newest plants and give our old favourites a refresh with new imagery. The vision for the shoot was to create a welcoming space that felt both inspirational and inviting. “I wanted the images to embrace interior trends, so looking at colour drenching, layering textures and using more relaxed styling,” says Ginny Henry, Patch's Creative Lead. “We wanted the images to reflect how people actually live in spaces, by using layered props and subtle pops of colour to create a 'lived-in' feel.”

How we did it

Our team included a mix of creative and horticultural experts, who all played a key role in bringing the photography to life. We started in the garden, making the most of the sunnier days of the week to capture our outdoor plants and pots. We maximised the space, taking several of our plants to the front of the house, where the property's rust-coloured facade and blue garage doors provided ready-made backdrops.

When the rain began to pour, we retreated back indoors to focus on the living room. Pink walls, abstract artwork and lots of plants made for a winning combination. The open-riser stairs also provided a great place for us to show off our plants and pots in different sizes, while the kitchen shelving was the perfect perch for our hanging plants. Leaves were zhuzhed, pots were arranged (and rearranged), and images were snapped. With a big spreadsheet, lots of creative ideas and many, many plants, the team created a look that feels natural and inviting.
