    • Regular watering

Easy to look after, water Hannah when the top two inches of her soil feel dry. She likes her compost moist but not soggy.

    • Medium light

Tolerant of a broad light spectrum, Hannah can handle some shade but prefers a sunny spot without too much direct sunlight, which may scorch her leaves.

    • Feeding

Give her a liquid feed once a month from March to September to encourage healthy new growth and hopefully some flowers.

  • Unlike the little bedding plant begonias you see in city parks, this impressive indoor specimen grows tall and splendid. With sturdy upright stems adorned in wavy edged, silvery spotted angel-wing shaped leaves and small pink pendulous flowers that hang like jewels, Begonia ‘Silver Wings’ is pretty perfect as a plant.

Native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil, ‘Silver Wings’ needs a warm, light, humid spot in order to flourish. That said, in your home it’s pretty fuss free. Keep the soil moist, give it a regular feed, mist it from time to time, and protect it from draughts. You’ll be richly rewarded for your efforts.

The species name ‘albopicta’ literally means, ‘marked with white’. We love it when botanists give us clues to what the plant looks like in the names they choose.
