  • It might look like a palm and it might sound like a palm, but the Hawaiian palm is actually an unusual succulent. It has fleshy leaves that sprout out in a rosette from its strange silvery stem and it looks great on a side table or on a shelf.

This plant is pretty hardy, as it’s used to quite extreme conditions, growing in the crevices on rock faces. Your Hawaiian palm won’t need much water, so just give it a drink when the soil has dried out. You can stick your finger into the soil to check. It will grow best in a spot that gets bright, indirect sunlight - like away from the window in a sunny room. Avoid too much direct sunshine as it can burn the leaves. The Hawaiian palm prefers a stable temperature so try to keep yours away from any particularly cold draughts or hot radiators.

With its striking appearance and easy care, the Hawaiian palm is an easy way to bring a touch of paradise to your home.
