    • Light watering

They very rarely need water. You’ll know if they need a drink because their leaves will wrinkle a little.

    • Bright light

They all like lots of light. If possible, put them next to a window that gets lots of sun. They don’t like shade.

  • Succulents are the ideal beginner plant because they need almost no attention. The only thing they’re fussy on is light. They need to be somewhere bright, like a windowsill or anywhere close to a window or skylight. That’s their only big ask. You hardly ever have to water them and there’s no other upkeep involved. With their interesting shapes and colours, succulents will look equally impressive together, or split up around your home.

Gasteria is a relative of the classic houseplantaloe vera, but much much smaller. The pretty pointed green leaves are speckled with pale dots. They almost never need water so only give it a drink if the leaves start to wrinkle. They like bright light but if the leaves turn yellow it means they're getting too much sun.

    Did you know?

The only continent that has no native species of succulent is Antarctica.
